Michael Leavell – C&NW State Street Line
Description
The C&NW State Street line was the original line in downtown Chicago extending from just west of downtown to Navy Pier. It was in operation until the early 2000s. Many buildings included in the layout are Chicago landmarks, and all are custom-designed, 3D printed, hand painted and decaled. Operations include inbound and outbound freight, industry switching, and a proposed, but never implemented, commuter service. Main track operations are governed by timetable and is overseen by the State Street yard master. Car movements are determined using waybills and switchlists. Turnouts are controlled through JMRI and panels on iPads.
